7. PILOTS HELP TRANSPORT PUPPIES TO TRAINING CENTERS

The CCI, a non-profit organization that provides professionally-trained and skilled dogs to people with disabilities, were having trouble flying their service dogs due to lockdown restrictions. Luckily, volunteer pilots and private plane owners offered their services to help transport the puppies and continue their service dog training. Around 189 CCI puppies, over the course of 43 trips, were successfully transported and are now learning the skills they need to become service dogs thanks to the heroic acts of the pilots.

6. THE “BREW DOGS” – DOGS DELIVER BEER TO CUSTOMERS

Barley and Buddy, are two pups hired by a brewing company, for a sole purpose – and that is delivering beer to your doorstep. Known as Huntington’s “brew dogs”, the two golden retrievers began delivering ice-cold beer wrapped around their necks to people during the lockdown. Creativity and compassion are highlighted with the services of these pups!

5. RESCUE DOGS MAKES RECORDS AT THE FASTEST DOG COMPETITION

Phelan, a 4-year-old rescue dog, won the fastest dog competition on December 11, 2020 after completing a 100-yard dash in exactly 6.346 seconds. The female wiry mixed breed made history after beating over 100 pure breeds at the finals of the American Kennel Club’s Fast Cat Invitational in Orlando. Her owners were definitely proud of their pup after adopting her from a shelter when she was just a year old.

4. TIKTOK FAMOUS DOG STORMS THE INTERNET

What’s special about this pup? Oakley is a Tiktok star with over 1.5 million followers. The trending puppy likes jumping and bouncing on the floor and on his owner’s bed. It all started when owner Martin posted a video of her pup dancing to a beat on her Instagram page. Soon after, the video started getting attention and thousands of views. A video of Oakley bustin’ a move has now gotten more than 27 million views on the popular app Tik Tok where even pop star Justin Bieber shared the video.

3. BLIND AND DEAF RESCUE DOG COMFORTS FOSTER ANIMALS

Sherio had a rough life after being moved from shelter to shelter and 12 different foster homes. The pup became deaf and partially blind in the process but eventually found a permanent home with owner Sheryl Smith, who is an animal advocate in Australia and takes in unfortunate foster animals. Sherio became her chief foster animal comforter as the pup continuously comforts the new animals coming in from a drastic life. Keep it up, Sherio! 

2. VOLUNTEER HELPER DOGS IN HOSPITALS AROUND THE WORLD

A Twitter post recently went viral with over 19k retweets when photos of a recent hire by the Ohio State University’s Medical Center left many on the internet impressed. Shari Dunaway tweeted pictures of how they hired a pup named Shiloh as a justice volunteer and his job is to greet other employees while they work. How adorable is the fact that this news attracted other hospitals and facilities around the world who also shared the same initiative of hiring pet volunteers to help around!

1. LABRADOR RETRIEVER GETS AN HONORARY DOCTORATE DEGREE

And we’re down to #1 on the list! An 8-year-old Labrador Retriever named Moose recently received an honorary degree in veterinary medicine at Virginia Tech’s College of Veterinary Medicine. How cool is that? Moose helped thousands of students cope with mental issues such as anxiety, trauma, and depression. According to his owner, the adorable pup has helped in more than 7,500 counseling sessions that are beneficial for students with mental issues.
