Agoutis are known as jungle gardeners. This is because they bury nuts and seeds and then forget all about them…allowing them to grow.

Agoutis are born with fur and their eyes fully open.
They are monogamous, meaning they stay with the same partner for life.

They grow up to 50cm (20 inches) in length and can weigh between 2-3 kg.
They can live up to 20 years.
