The breed was bred in the USA by immigrants from Australia, like a shepherd dog. The Australian does a good job of finding and saving people. Recently, the Aussie began to acquire the status of a companion dog, so dog breeders seek to reduce its size.

A very kind, beautiful, graceful dog, a miniature copy of the well-known collie. Sheltie has a luxurious coat that requires regular grooming.
