Do you know which dog breeds are the largest in the world? There is no universal height or weight at which a dog breed is officially classified as large, but some breeds weighing more than 45 kg are considered gigantic.
#1 English Mastiff
The average height of these giants is 69-91 cm, and weight can vary from 68 to 110 kg.
#2 Spanish Mastiff
Initially, the breed was used to protect livestock from wolves and other predators.
#3 Saint Bernard
The breed of dogs of gigantic sizes, descending from working dogs from the Italian and Swiss Alps, which were originally bred as lifeguards.
#4 Pyrenean Mastiff
Pyrenean Mastiffs are very large dogs: they are 77-81 cm tall. The average weight is 70-81 kg, although you can often see dogs weighing more than 100 kg.
#5 Great Dane
The tallest breed of dog in the world. The minimum height at the withers is 80 cm.
#6 Tibetan Mastiff
One of the oldest breeds that served as a guard dog in the monasteries of Tibet, and also accompanied the nomads in the Himalayan mountains.
